1 July Canada Day

When teaching EFL, we often concentrate on the UK and the US.

Why not celebrate Canada Day with your class on July 1? For more information about this day check:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canada_Day

Many children are fascinated by flags.  You can print off the flag from: http://www.coloring.ws/canada.htm

Talk to the children about what it looks like, that it has three bands, the colours and also the red maple leaf.

You could sing the following song once the children have worked on the Canadian flag.

Tune: The Farmers in the dell

Their flag is red and white. x 2

Happy Canada Day!

Their flag is red and white.

This is a song which you can adapt for many festivals and flags. We sing another version of this song when it is Andalusia Day here.

Our flag is green and white. x 2

Happy Andalucia Day!

Our flag is green and white.
