For those of you, who like me, have decided to stop using Sparklebox, I thought I would post some alternative sites for making signs for your classroom.
I have all the signs from:
http://www.sbac.edu/~tpl/posters/posters.htm#pricelist printed in colour and laminated around the school and class.
http://www.schoolslinks.co.uk/resources_rules.htm also has some great signs you can even use with upper primary. It is also a great website for other materials.
Don’t forget Jan Brett’s site: http://janbrett.com/classroom_helpalongs.htm
http://janbrett.com/interactive_signs/signinput.php4 – you can write what you want the sign to say.
For flashcards, I would suggest using http://www.mes-english.com They are funnier than the Sparklebox ones anyway! For pre-school children, check out Jan Brett (above). Also check: http://www.kizclub.com/flashcards.htm for alphabet flashcards.
http://www.seomraranga.ie/englishposters.htm – a website Patti has forwarded in her comment
Here are some alternative websites with free materials which were posted on TES by teachers commenting on Sparklebox.
http://www.communication4all.co.uk/HomePage.htm – Bev Evan’s wonderful website. There are classroom signs, flashcards, classroom basics, etc. for free and then there are some other very reasonably priced materials.
http://mrspancake.com/ Some lovely free materials and other things you can purchase
http://www.ichild.co.uk/ – once you have registered on this website, you can download things for free
